Summer is just around the corner, and this Salted Vanilla Chocolate Chip Milkshake is just what you need to keep cool as the temperatures start to rise and the days become longer. Make this shake as a healthy breakfast recipe or delicious dessert recipe, the natural ingredients are non-processed and delicious! This addicting shake will satisfy your craving for sweet and salty in no time! 

Ingredients for the Best Plant-Based Milkshake: 

Bananas – This healthy dessert is banana-based and non-processed! Frozen bananas are the perfect base as they add a thick and creamy texture to the smoothie and they are, of course, vegan-friendly! 

Vanilla Bean – This adds a dessert-like flavoring to the smoothie! You can substitute this for vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste if you do not have whole vanilla beans in the pantry. 

Pure Maple Syrup – This is the perfect natural sweetener for creating a tasty and healthy milkshake. You can swap maple syrup for maple sugar, coconut sugar, or other natural sweeteners. 

Vanilla Protein Powder – Add a vanilla plant-based protein powder for extra protein!  

Unsweetened Vanilla Plant-Based Milk – Vanilla milk will add to the robust flavor of the shake.

Sea Salt Flakes – Desserts are better sweet and salty if you ask me! Flaky sea salt will add a nice balance to the sweetness.

Chocolate Chips – Sweetened chocolate chips from a natural brand of choice will satisfy the chocolate craving and pair well with the sea salt flakes.

Cacao Nibs – Natural cacao nibs will add a nice crunch factor to this smoothie.

Recipe Ingredients: 

  • 1 frozen banana 
  • ½ cup of ice
  • 1 vanilla bean, scraped
  • 1 scoop of vanilla plant-based protein powder 
  • 1 cup unsweetened vanilla plant-based milk
  • 1 tsp maple syrup
  • 1 scoop chocolate chips of choice
  • 1 scoop cacao nibs
  • 1 pinch of sea salt flakes

Place the frozen banana, ice, scraped vanilla bean, vanilla plant-based protein powder, unsweetened vanilla plant-based milk, maple syrup, chocolate chips, cacao nibs, and sea salt flakes in a blender.

Blend on high until thick and creamy, stopping to scrape down the sides if needed.

Pour into a glass or bowl.
